U.S. Marshals Experience

Fifteen of my 30+ years with the U.S. Marshals Service was spent overseeing the Great Lakes Regional Task Force. It was a combined effort of 26 federal, state, and local partner agencies to apprehend serious violent felons. Our team expanded the task force from two cities to every major city in Indiana.

This year marks my 35th year in jail & prisoner operations, judicial security, civil process, and investigations. Upon taking office in 2023, I began applying these career disciplines to the office of Sheriff.

So far, we’ve reduced the high rate of turnover among jail staff – and we convinced the County Council to increase their pay. This raised morale as evidenced by 73 percent fewer resignations than the previous administration. We went from an average of 13 jail officers quitting every year – to just four.

Among the multiple choices on your ballot, it’s important we elect the right Sheriff.
